Depending on the markets to which you want to export, you should evaluate the following aspects:

• Determine if the products to be shipped can be shipped or if they need specific licenses at the destination to avoid retained shipments in the country of Import;
• Which licenses or documents are required in the destination for the TARIFF HEADING – Customs Code / Identification of your merchandise;
• Well defined sales contract with payment terms, agreed INCOTERMS, proforma export invoice confirmed and formal acceptance of the terms by the consignee;
• Ensure good packaging appropriate for your products protection;
• Protect merchandise with Cargo Insurance since international transport conventions (BL, AWB, CMR) have liability limits;
• Get validated shipping quote before shipping start.

• Commercial invoice indicating number of volumes, gross weight, net weight, value of merchandise, VAT exemption regime, INCOTERM / CITY agreed;
• Packing list;
• Certificates of origin for countries that may be Custom Duties exempt;
• Previous Licensing (eg RADAR SISCOMEX / Brazil, MINCO / Angola);
• DAA / EDA for alcohol, wines, spiritual liqueurs, etc .;
• Phytosanitary certificates for food products.

• Evaluate in detail that the products to be acquired were properly characterized either by sample or catalogs and confirmed by the Supplier, composition and materials;
• Have validated VAT identification and authorization according to the sector of activity by tax authorities;
• Determine that the products to be imported are authorized in Portugal / European Union BEFORE loading the goods;
• Request the tariff classification to the supplier or to be indicated in the invoice proforma;
• Confirm the import duty rate and what documents are required prior to arrival (Certificates of Origin / EUR1 + Certificates Compliance according to EU directives for electrical and electronic articles ROHS, phytosanitary certificates for food products, licensing Agreements/Statement of waste for batteries/tires, etc.);
• Define well the purchase price and INCOTERM associated with the city where the goods will be delivered;
• Get pro-forma invoice confirmed by the vendor and clarified payment terms;
• Get validated shipping quote BEFORE start transportation.

• Certificates of conformity / origin;
• Waste treatment licenses when applicable;
• Photos of cargo/catalogs for possible customs clarification if required;
• With/without Insurance Statement;
• Tax number and valid EORI;
• Bill of Lading / AWB;
• Letter of attorney for customs appointment to dispatcher for shipments from third countries.
